Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead, Senior-level Deputy Program Manager at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segments Missile Solutions Sector Headquarters located in Huntsville, AL. This is an opportunity to support the THAAD Boost Motor Program. We are looking for a dynamic leader to drive program success. This position will help to lead an evolving development program, interface directly with customers, and ensure effective program execution. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team on a high profile program critical to the defense of our nation and our allies.
Essential Functions:
Manage integrated product team (IPT) and lead team activities while interacting with the Director of Programs, Lead PM or Deputy Program Managers, functional managers, and customers to achieve program objectives (cost, schedule, quality).
Candidate must be capable of working within an EVMS environment to control the project scope and team efforts (including occasional evening and weekend work).
Lead planning and proposals of key elements of a Program under general direction of the Director of Programs and Business Development.
Prepare presentations and lead teams in presentations to peers, customers, and managers.
Develop business case and oversee discretionary projects within the framework of the overall program.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Up to 30% business travel to other L3Harris and customer sites.
Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant program management experience, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related program management experience, or 13 years of prior related program management experience in lieu of a degree.
2+ years of earned value management (EVM) experience.
2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment working with hardware.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
PMP or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
Aerospace or defense development experience with solid or liquid propulsion.
Proficiency setting up Integrated Master Schedules using knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling tool to create extensive project files for large-size projects.
Knowledge of project management within the framework of the Project Management Institute including Project Planning, Project Control (Earned Value), Project Execution, Communication, Procurement, and Quality.
Knowledge and application of Risk and Opportunity Management.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
