Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator with strong Windows Server expertise to join our IT team. The successful candidate will maintain, upgrade, and manage our Windows-based infrastructure while providing comprehensive support across desktop, server, and basic networking levels in a fast-paced environment, ensuring reliable and efficient technology operations throughout the facility.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting end-user desktop issues, managing Windows Server configuration, patching, and performance; addressing foundational networking tasks; and delivering adaptable support across multiple departments and locations. The ideal candidate is resourceful and customer-focused, with excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively amid shifting daily demands, and a proactive approach to listening and tailoring solutions to end-user needs.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and associated software in a multi-platform environment.
- Manage Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operation with Windows systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of all systems.
- Implement and oversee security protocols, conduct system backups, and ensure data recovery processes are in place.
- Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Create and maintain documentation on system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs
- Apply OS updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Familiarity / Participate in disaster recovery exercises and actual events.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and other team members.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus at least 4 years of hands-on experience as a Windows Administrator managing Windows servers (2016, 2019, and later versions). In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of directly related professional experience is required.
- Certifications Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Technical Proficiency
- Strong expertise in Windows Server environments, including configuration, management, patching, and performance optimization.
- Solid knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SSH, FTP).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and container orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Acronis, Backup Exec).
- Working knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to support process improvements.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Leadership capability to mentor and guide junior administrators.
- High adaptability to quickly learn and integrate new technologies and methodologies.
- Flexibility and availability to participate in on-call rotations or work outside regular business hours to resolve critical issues.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with security compliance and best practices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
