Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support Mission System integration in unclassified and secure DoD DCSA accredited environments. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining mission system environments with a mix of OS and hosting solutions. Integration of the mission systems will include the install and configuration of the Operating Systems and Mission software, Infrastructure services, and Cyber Security hardening. A solid understanding of Linux administration and enterprise services is required. Understanding of Windows administration is also a plus. A candidate must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, work effectively in a diverse technical team, and could take ownership of issues through resolution.
Essential Functions:
- Integrate with a team of multidiscipline, multileveled Systems Administrators supporting Linux, Windows, and Network operations
- Linux and Window system deployment, upgrades, configuration management, patching and maintenance
- Installation and hardening of enterprise services and integrated software
- Conforming to DoD security standards (RMF, DISA, CMMC, DFARS, NISPOM)

- Managing User Access and Security Policies
- Backup and recovery of Linux and Windows based systems
- Technical writing of work instructions and build manuals
- Support senior staff on documenting operational processes, configurations, and diagrams required for management, Security operations, and the software teams
- On site (not fully remote) position
Qualifications:
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Linux server and workstation systems administration on Red Hat based distributions (RHEL9, RHEL8, RHEL7, Rocky8, CentOS7) to include
- Break/fix troubleshooting
- Provisioning
- Configuring and maintaining infrastructure services such as Directory Service/LDAP (ds389,RHDS), DHCP, NTP, DNS, SMB, Anti Virus, PXE Boot
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Ability to draft Technical documents
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Certifications RHCSA, RHCE, RHCSS, RHCDS, Security+, CISSP, CISM
- Supporting multi-OS environments of Linux, Windows, Solaris, and embedded OS’s
- System hardening and auditing to RMF, CMMC, DFARS, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53
- Familiarity with common DoD hardening tools such as Nessus and DISA STIG
- Familiarity with Windows infrastructure services such as Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS, NTP
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) techniques such as Splunk
- Demonstrated configuration management with Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform, AWX, puppet, or chef
- Demonstrated experience with scripting languages (Shell/Bash, Powershell, Python, PERL, PHP)
- Basic network administration of layer 2/3 switches
- Demonstrated knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies
- Demonstrated understanding of metrics and monitoring systems
- Demonstrated experience performing log analysis and other network forensic investigations
- Demonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting complex distributed systems
- Demonstrated experience with creating and improving documented procedures
