Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Associate, Systems Engineer. This individual will play a supporting role with the engagement of both external and internal customers in the support of the program. With general supervision, this individual will work closely with the Senior System Engineers to develop MBSE models, hardware / software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, and verification / validation of technical products and systems.
We are searching for an Associate, Systems Engineer at our Seabed Systems – Goleta, CA location
Essential Functions:
·Basic understanding of Systems Engineering and the System Engineering Processes
·Works independently under regular direction and guidance on non-routine tasks requiring judgement and initiative.
·Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
·Develop solutions to routine technical problems or limited scope.
·Collaborate with other Systems Engineers, project leaders, and immediate Supervisor in the development of work products, including System Specifications, Logically Derived and Linked Requirements, Interface Definitions, System Diagrams, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Systems Analyses, Trade Studies, and Detailed Designs.
·Participate in / present at / develop and coordinate engineering artifacts at program design reviews to relevant stakeholders
·Ensure quality through adherence to the Quality Systems Manual, applicable Standard Work Instructions, and other standards invoked internally or contractually.
·Must have attention to detail
·Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
·Requires broad theoretical job knowledge. Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
·Ability to obtain an active U.S. DOD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
·Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external customers
·Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with individuals within and outside of the organization and have a strong drive and sense of ownership
·Experience using Microsoft Office products
·Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
·Knowledge of any standard system engineering process including MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220 or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.
·Experience with DOORS, Cameo suite of MBSE tools or similar, MS Visio
·Familiarity with underwater products and acoustics
·Networking experience including IP addressing, switching and routing
·Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
·Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
·High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is [$70,500 MIN - $129,500 MAX]. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
