About the role
L3Harris IMSA are seeking an experienced and detail-orientated accounting professional, to oversee project finances for some of our high-profile programs. Through close collaboration with PMO stakeholders and the central finance team, the Program Finance Analyst - Finance will monitor and control project finances to support the delivery of critical projects on time and within budget.
Core activities of this role will be centered around the financial status of the project to deliver accurate reporting, forecasting, and financial performance insights to enable informed business decisions.
Successful delivery will provide visibility on program status through program financial understanding including performance projections, forecasts and profitability, combined with financial governance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recommendations to management on project financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience to maintain and improve project profitability
- Deliver timely and accurate program finance reports including variance analysis for internal governance and client forums
- Prepare detailed project budgets and update forecasts for monthly sales, gross margin, cash receipts and orders
- Jointly prepare timely and accurate EACs & CEACs
- Raise Sales Orders and Invoices and undertake related escalation calculations
- Ensure contract modifications are accurately and appropriately recorded
- Oversee end-of-month activities including project closure, coordinating with central finance to guarantee seamless handovers
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation and reporting data
- Conduct ad hoc analysis, estimation of costs and support internal & external audits as required
- Provide project finance technical advice within the PFA team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent project finance standards and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across project finance processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy aligning with L3Harris Sector and compliance requirements
About you
To be successful in this role and to best leverage the opportunities provided by L3Harris, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;
- Bachelor’s Degree or similar
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Project Accounting / Finance
- Strong knowledge and experience of project accounting and finance principles, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting and revenue recognition
- Demonstrated experience business partnering with Project Controls and Project Management
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to interpret project financial data and provide accurate reporting on cost trends, variances and mitigation strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Familiarity with ERP systems relevant to Project Reporting
