What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Monitor and manage customs compliance across shipments including HMRC CDS entries.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, and brokers to facilitate smooth clearance processes
- Assist with resolving customs issues, discrepancies, and potential risks.
- Maintain documentation for Customs & Export compliance, including import/export instructions, trade data, and audit records.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and domestic/international regulations.
- Prepare reports and provide data on trade compliance and customs activities.
- Assist in internal audits and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for customs purposes.
- Making basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems.
- Identifies, defines and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area with some impact on department results.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in import records and procedures.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritising effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Quick and efficient problem-solving abilities.
- Meticulous in managing and handling documentation.
- Ability to work independently or with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Eagerness to learn and progress within the company.
