Job Description:
L3Harris in Clifton, NJ is seeking a versatile RF hardware engineer to support the design and manufacturing of Electronic Warfare (EW) products for ground and airborne-based military applications. As an RF hardware engineer, you will be directly involved in the design, integration, and test of EW Systems technology.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all aspects of RF/microwave product development, including system and module level design and definition, schematic capture, circuit design, derating and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA).
Prepare and present engineering design concepts and data results for IDR/PDR/CDR.
Design, model and test RF circuits and/or antennas suitable for microwave radar applications in L, C, S, X, Ku and Ka bands.
Be responsible for the design, analysis, and test of antenna system performance, phased array elements and feeds, microstrip elements and feeds, waveguide slot arrays, multi-beam antenna feeds and networks, reflector antennas and feeds, etc.
Support internal peer reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of production.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required and at least 6 years of years of industry experience OR: MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 4 years of industry experience
Minimum 4 years of experience supporting production of RF/Microwave hardware, troubleshooting RF/microwave subassemblies to the component level, develop procedures for and conduct design verification testing, perform linear and non-linear analysis of RF/microwave circuits using Keysight ADS or similar
Minimum 3 years of experience designing RF/Microwave circuits at the circuit card or module level (schematic capture, BOM generation, layout or layout supervision)
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with following hardware design processes and generating required documentation
Experience with military or space qualified hardware designs
Familiarity with RF Communications waveforms (PM, BPSK, QPSK)
Familiarity with transmitter and receiver architecture design:
Transmitter design: gain distribution, linearity, modulation formats synthesizer architecture, and EVM performance.
Receiver front end design: Noise figure, dynamic range, acquisition and tracking threshold, and BER performance.
Ability to perform 3D Electromagnetic analysis using HFSS or similar
Model installed performance of antenna systems including the radome and co-site interference.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts,
New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $106,500 - $197,500.
This is not a guarantee of compensation
