Job Description:
The Clifton, New Jersey Facilities team is seeking an Electrician/HVAC Technician Assistant for the Clifton, NJ site. This role is responsible for performing skilled mechanical and electrical work related to the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, as well as other related equipment. In addition, the Electrician/HVAC Technician Assistant will conduct diagnostic testing on equipment and perform a variety of other skilled maintenance duties.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in servicing, maintaining, regulating, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
- Check and inspect various installations and items of air conditioning and food storage equipment such as; compressors, pumps, filters, bearings, belts, circuits, controls, piping, etc.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems; repair or replace defective parts in units and in equipment controls.
- Check and adjust temperatures of air conditioning systems, and assist in making changes, expansions, and/or adjustments to Siemen’s Energy Management Systems.
- Communicate maintenance and repair activities to both the HVAC mechanic and appropriate management supervisor.
- Maintain routine records related to maintenance and repair activities.
- Operate personal and drivable man lifts, including company vehicles.
- Communicate maintenance and repair activities to other trades and management, as necessary.
- Maintain routine records related to maintenance and repair activities.
- Close-out service calls or preventive maintenance requests as part of the software management system.
- Observe and comply with all OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EHS, ITT and local electrical, gas, and safety codes and regulations. Observe proper safety practices.
- Work with other crafts in performance of emergency repairs in order to keep building and equipment functional.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years related industrial experience.
- Must have a valid NJ driver’s license to operate registered company vehicles.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with and observe all OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EHS, ITT and local electrical, gas, and safety codes and regulations.
- Ability to work alone or with other trades in performance of repair projects.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts,
New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $31,200 - $124,800.
This is not a guarantee of compensation
or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and
