Job Description:
ARDE Inc., a subsidiary of Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies company in Carlstadt, NJ, is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations. ARDE is a leader in designing and manufacturing high-performance pressure vessels for the space and defense sectors, serving both domestic and international customers. The role involves managing customer relationships, multi-year production contracts, and fostering connections with emerging commercial space start-ups. The ideal candidate will have proven managerial experience and a strong background in the industry. ARDE specializes in high-pressure Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels and Propellant Tanks, with expertise in structural/dynamics analysis, fracture mechanics, and Material and Process Engineering. Essential Functions:
- Oversee design and manufacture of mission-critical, high-stress pressure vessels.
- Manage P&L and site infrastructure, including major defense procurements (FAR 15) and commercial bids.
- Champion site communication and engagement/morale activities to build the culture.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations, working with export officials.
- Drive organizational objectives: financial performance, on-time delivery, quality management, and safety.
- Define and execute staffing and capital plans for current and future programs.
- Collaborate with Senior Staff on Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to reduce costs and lead times.
- Promote EH&S excellence and safety culture.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to direct report managers.
- Lead Business Resilience Team to ensure operational continuity during events.
- Oversee IR&D efforts to align research spending with future market needs.
- Ability to travel 20%.
Qualifications:
- Active US Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS w/SCI.
- Experience in strategy development.
- PMP certification.
- Six Sigma Training.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $180,500- $335,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
