Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for our Electronics Design Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of control systems for liquid propulsion, space power, and large-scale data acquisition systems. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage a diverse team of engineers and technicians.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including electrical systems engineers, electrical project engineers, electrical engineers, and test engineers.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of control systems for liquid propulsion, space power, and large-scale data acquisition systems.
  • Manage electronic development technicians who are part of the bargaining union, ensuring effective collaboration and compliance with union agreements.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of electronic systems with overall project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skills development.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, technical documentation, and proposals to senior management and clients.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 7 years of experience in electronics design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in the design and development of control systems for liquid propulsion, space power, and large-scale data acquisition systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and system integration.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing unionized technicians and working within union agreements.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electronics design and development.
  • Familiarity with advanced simulation and modeling tools.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the state of California role is $125,000 - $232,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
