About L3HARRIS WESCAM
As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
About the Role
This is a 16 month co-op term (with 12 month terms occasionally available). You will be reporting to the Manager, Applications & Collaboration Services, and working closely on a team of talented individuals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support functional and system Software applications to validate production assemblies and systems
- Automate processes to eliminate manual test, logs and papers during software development
- Responsible for creating and maintaining C# and SQL based custom MES applications
- Create technical specifications and test plans, additional functions may include ad-hoc report generation, and data mining activities
- Provides programming support for various interfaces
- Work closely with Operations, Production, and IT on continuing to build new test capabilities while improving existing test procedures and methods
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for production issues that arise internally
- Support quality practices (AS9100 and ISO9001)
Required Capabilities
- Experience developing functional software, test scripts and/or automation systems
- Proficiency with DevOps, C#, ASP.NET, MS SQL is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative and innovative
- Strong working knowledge of standard internet communications protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
Desired Education and Experiences
- Working towards University Degree in Computer Science or Software/Computer Engineering
