Job Description:
Missile Solutions, a L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a Chief Engineer for Manufacturing Process Design. In this role, you will represent the engineering team across multiple sites, leading the development and implementation of processes and facility design changes.
This role will serve as a leadership figure and design authority across various focus areas. You are responsible for maintaining adequate resources for all engineering functions in the pursuit of the portfolio’s strategic goals and operational plans. Additionally, you will interface with key team members to ensure alignment of Operations, Engineering, and Program objectives across multiple locations.
Essential Functions:
- Design responsible for manufacturing and production processes of Solid Rocket Motors, and subassemblies.
- Provide leadership in the design of lean manufacturing layouts and processes to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance product flow.
- Develop management control systems alongside program/project managers to facilitate timely outcomes and changes across Solid Rocket Motor Production.
- Provide active input into Change Board Reviews, Sprints and Scums to drive outcomes that will affect production across all product lines.
- Work and communicate effectively with all functions at all levels of the organization.
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes and drive improvements for enhancing efficiency.
- Focus on optimizing the use of floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Travel: 25%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active US Security Clearance is a plus.
- Experience with Solid Rocket Motor manufacturing is highly desired.
- Experience leading cross functional engineering teams (including at least one assignment leading a 40+ person engineering team) through program lifecycles from proposal to production and sustainment.
- Experience with high volume manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Cost account management experience, project management experience a plus.
