This apprenticeship offers a structured introduction to the world of bids and proposals within a high-technology maritime environment. As a Bids & Proposals Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the preparation of competitive, compliant, and compelling tender submissions that help L3Harris secure defence and maritime contracts.
You’ll work closely with experienced Bid Managers, functional areas and subject matter experts, gaining hands-on experience across the full bid lifecycle while completing a recognised qualification.
This role is ideal for someone who is organised, curious and motivated to build a career in a fast-paced environment.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Support the coordination and delivery of bids, proposals, and tender submissions for maritime and underwater systems
- Maintain bid plans, action logs and document repositories
- Assist in drafting, editing and formatting proposal content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance
- Work together with engineering and programme teams to gather technical information and translate it into structured responses
- Support compliance checks and internal governance processes
- Track customer clarifications, updates, and submission requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes, templates, and knowledge libraries
- Participate in lessons-learned reviews and support implementation of improvements

- GCSE Maths - 9-4
- GCSE English - 9-4
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Willingness to learn and take on feedback
- A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine interest in business development
