About the role
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career in systems engineering, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer, to join our team supporting the supporting the sustainment of L3Harris Tactical Radio Products and C4I Platform Integration Programs for a 12 month Fixed Term contract.
Your work will encompass supporting engineering changes including modification or enhancements, technical investigations, obsolescence management and disposal of L3Harris and third-party products. This role will assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks, contractual obligations, and customer requirements.
Your work will also encompass supporting engineering in requirements development, system design, integration, verification and validation pertaining to C4I Platform Integration Programs that include L3Harris and third-party products.
What role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Lead and as-required conduct engineering changes for modifications or enhancements, including end-to-end requirements management, detailed design, verification and associated reporting pertaining to sustainment of L3Harris Tactical Radios and C4I Platform Integration
- Coordinate with the parties (including Suppliers) who are providing Engineering Services for radio products; ensuring understanding of their responsibilities, the processes to be used, and the time-frames involved
- Coordinate with the parties (including Suppliers) who are providing Engineering Product for C4I Platform Integration; ensuring understanding of their responsibilities, the processes to be used, and the time-frames involved
- Communicate with key-stakeholders internal to the business, sub-contractors and the external customer in supporting the technical execution of the program
- Conduct Technical Information Review (TIR) from any source which may affect fit, form or function of the PBS items and provide advice to the customer program office, including any related engineering investigation or change
- Assist in technical investigations for engineering-related requests into radio products range, investigating product issues and providing written recommendations and outcomes
- Monitor and maintain the Products Being Supported (PBS) items for lifecycle changes, product issues, supportability issues, change proposals and pro0duct roadmaps
- Status and deliver timely outcomes on Request for Information (RFI) raised by the customer
- Provision of input to Contract Status Reporting, including performance, planned activities, issues and opportunities as appropriate to the program being executed
- Management and update of engineering related plans and procedures, including Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering recognized by Engineers Australia
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or equivalent experience
- Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, large international business will also be considered
- Experience in supporting small and large scale engineering projects
- A background in sustainment will be highly regarded.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of HF, VHF, UHF and Narrowband SATCOM Systems
- Experience with mobile networking within a tactical environment and tactical data messaging
- Knowledge of secure voice and data systems including an understanding of cryptographic equipment
- Experience with verification, especially test procedure development.
