About the role
L3Harris in Eight Mile Plains is The Centre of Excellence for Electronic Warfare and is home to world-leading design, manufacture and integration expertise and the sustainment of high-reliability electronic warfare components. Our highly skilled workforce design and develop Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities such as the next-generation space, airborne and cyber capabilities for the Australian warfighter.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with strong EVM experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, ideally with experience using Deltek Costpoint and Cobra.
This role is responsible for managing financial performance across assigned programs, including forecasting, earned value management, variance analysis, and customer reporting, while acting as a key financial partner to program teams and stakeholders. You will provide accurate financial insights, support audits and planning activities, ensure compliance with internal policies, and contribute to effective program delivery through risk identification and process improvement.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Maintain and manage financial plans across assigned programs, including earned value analysis and customer reporting. Act as the primary financial point of contact, partnering closely with Program Management, Accounting, functional teams, and customers to provide accurate and timely financial insights.
- Prepare monthly forecasts covering Orders, Sales, Operating Income, Cash Flow, and Working Capital. Deliver clear variance analysis with actionable insights, identifying risks, highlighting issues, and recommending corrective actions to support program performance.
- Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM), including baseline planning, execution, and estimate-to-complete updates. Support multiple contract types and ensure all financial activities comply with internal policies and SOX requirements.
- Provide financial input for audits and ad hoc analysis, and assist Project Managers in establishing and managing effective Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned to project objectives.
- Undertake additional duties as required.

- Strong experience in Earned Value Management (EVM), financial performance, and internal/customer reporting
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience
- CA or CPA qualification highly regarded
- Alternatively, 10+ years’ relevant experience in lieu of a degree
