L3Harris in Brighton are part of our Release Systems & Antennas division operating in the Aerospace domain. For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.

The Contracts/Commercial Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative requirements of the Commercial/Contract group and for aiding in the company ability to support overall customer contract actions and internal administration. The position reports directly to the Contracts & Commercial Manager for the UK facility

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Commercial Administration including dealing with enquiries, quotations, customer orders, despatch and invoicing documentation
- Timely receipt & accurate input of enquiries and orders onto ERP system
- Preparation of responses to customers
- Raising of necessary despatch documents including export licence and despatch checklist documentation in compliance with regulations
- Raising invoices and credit notes
- Liaison with other departments and customers to process enquiries or orders ensuring that all outstanding issues are resolved
- Preparation and submission of commercial proposals and quotations including payment arrangements and commercial response and obtaining internal approvals as appropriate in accordance with company and corporate procedures and with guidance from the Commercial Manager
- Providing department support with export control, including:
- Preparation of and issuing of export Customs declaration of freight agents in accordance with the export approvals to ensure compliance with customs duty & VAT control requirements and UK and US licensing requirements
- Preparation of export documentation for freight deliveries and hand carry of equipment outside the UK
- Input of import and export shipment details into registers ensuring that record keeping requirements are met
- Maintain company registers for quotations, orders and export control
- Interface with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Purchasing, Business Development and shipping personnel to obtain order statue and delivery data.
