About the role 

WESCAM, part of L3Harris Technologies’ Integrated Mission Systems segment, delivers advanced electro‑optical and infrared sensor solutions for defense, security, and search and rescue operations. Our MX-series systems provide stabilized, high‑magnification imaging across air, land, and sea—enabling customers to see first and act first.

This role is responsible for driving sales of our products and systems across the full pipeline—from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and closing. You will develop and execute strategic sales and capture plans, assess competitive positioning, and deliver compelling presentations at customer meetings, demonstrations, and industry events. You’ll also provide market insights and regular updates to senior leadership on account activity and performance.

Covering Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific (with potential expansion into Southeast and North Asia), you will report to the Director, Regional Sales Team APAC. As part of a high-performing, collaborative team, you’ll help accelerate growth of the WESCAM MX-series across one of our fastest-growing regions, supported by a strong network of regional partners and a leading product portfolio.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets as part of the International team by directing activities in the field to achieve territorial sales goals in line with company growth plans.
  • Generate and increase a robust pipeline of sales opportunities in allocated Territories
  • Responsible for capturing customer requirements to influence L3HARRIS WESCAM design solutions and successfully selling MX, CMX and MatriX solutions to customers in all domains (Air, Land and Maritime)
  • Promote current product capability, as well as recommending the development of products or product enhancements expected to result in profitable business growth.
  • Serve as the customer expert and capture / pursuit leader for business pursuits.
  • Responsible for developing strategy in all domains (Air, Land and Maritime) for key pursuits and managing the hand-off of business opportunities to the operational unit.
  • Coordinate with out-of-Territory Sales Directors who’s OEMs may be pursuing opportunities within the Territory.
  • Shape and develop offset strategies and support current offset programs implementation 
  • Stay engaged with and communicate with Program Managers and In Service Account Managers (ISAMs) as they direct the execution of existing business to ensure we "keep it sold" and position ourselves for follow-on business with existing customer
  • Expected to spend significant time outside of the office or on the phone networking and meeting with customers.
  • Travel – up to 50% of the time

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills;

  • Excellent communication skills with full professional fluency in English; additional Asian language skills are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong networks across defence, law enforcement, and military OEM communities.
  • Skilled at developing long-term, trusted advisor relationships, both in-person and remotely, with a strong understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian market, key stakeholders, and effective routes to market.
  • Familiarity with customer landscapes across Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, and North Asia.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong preference for working in high-performing, team-oriented environments.
  • Solid understanding of sensor technologies and their operational applications.
  • Energetic, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
  • Confident, polished presenter comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Recognised subject matter expert with advanced knowledge across one or more technical or business domains.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ relevant experience, or Graduate degree with 7+ years; equivalent experience (13+ years) considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Demonstrated success in complex sales within national security, defence, or intelligence sectors across air, land, or maritime domains.
  • Experience in military or security sales, ideally within a large OEM environment, with a proven track record of winning major programs.
  • Strong understanding of the Korean defence ecosystem; broader experience across Asia is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of offset program processes; direct experience delivering approved offset outcomes is advantageous.
  • Previous military experience is considered a plus.
