Job Description:
The Senior Associate of Material Management is responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end material planning process to ensure the on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods for all contract and non- contract material at a group of sites. The Senior Associate supports the Production Planning & Control site master production schedule through efficient utilization of the MRP system, including implementation of planning strategies and effective purchasing requisition management. This role will work closely with the Procurement organization to ensure material is proactively planned, ordered, received, stored, and issued to the manufacturing line to support the manufacturing need date, master schedule attainment, and customer on-time delivery. The Senior Associate supports maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.
Essential Functions:
- Review the MRP system daily for assigned actions and run standard reports to support planning activities; identify basic discrepancies and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain established planning parameters in the MRP system by entering updates provided by senior planners or management to help ensure data accuracy.
- Process demand signals and purchase requisitions by following defined procedures to support timely order fulfillment across assigned projects.
- Support the execution of material planning activities by applying existing planning methods and guidelines to help meet production requirements.
- Monitor material exceptions such as delays or changes and notify the Materials Management Manager or senior planners when issues may impact the production schedule or contract dates.
- Assist with expediting materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to project schedules and direction from senior team members.
- Identify potential material shortages through system review and report findings to appropriate personnel; assist with corrective actions as directed.
- Update supply orders and planning data in the system based on schedule changes or instructions from senior planners; maintain accurate planning and inventory control information for assigned parts.
- Support the site’s key operational and Supply Chain metrics by completing daily planning tasks accurately and on time.
- Provide suggestions for improving work processes and support continuous improvement efforts within Materials Management.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with internal teams to provide updates on assigned planning tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 1 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of Bill of Material in a straight-line or indented structure. Familiarization with control of GFM (Government Furnished Materials) is a plus.
- Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data- driven decisions. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
- Familiarity with Cincom Control and Agile is a plus.
