Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Information Technology Systems Administrator to join our diverse, energetic, and highly collaborative technical team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Key responsibilities include performing all levels of systems administration tasks, and ensuring the configuration, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure program areas. The role involves installing and upgrading operating systems, applying patches and anti-virus definitions, configuring and maintaining system backups, and managing all aspects of Active Directory. Additionally, the candidate will utilize deployment automation tools, provide end-user support for desktop issues, and handle the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of new desktops and servers for upgrades and replacements. Networking experience, including knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure, switches, routers, and firewalls, is highly desirable.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for administration and maintenance of Windows & Linux servers and workstations.
- Implement regular system updates and patches, minimizing vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Harden systems by configuring and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for system related issues.
- Configure and support VoIP telephone and VTC equipment
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools for deployment automation, striving for increased efficiency in our operational processes.
- Develop and maintain system documentation.
- Assist with RMF and JSIG compliance as required by security.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active Top Secret US Security ClearancePreferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with VMware or similar virtualization software.
- Knowledge of network storage solutions.
- Experience supporting backup solutions and disaster recovery.
- Ability to function independently with minimal direction.
- Good interpersonal skills for interfacing with team members & users.
- Experience supporting end-user applications and engineering development tools.
- Three (3) years of experience as a System Administrator managing LAN/WAN environments
- Experience in Special Access Programs (SAPs) and/or Collateral environments
