Job Description:
This position, Manager Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading electrical engineers in the design, development, implementation, testing, analysis, and sustainment of technical products supporting complex Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV). You will have direct influence on program designs and proposal efforts, staffing, and overall performance of the Electrical Engineering Department. You will be responsible for leading a team of 5-10 engineers and developing collaborative relationships with Engineering Managers, Program Leadership and other discipline group leaders to support needs of the business. This is an onsite position.

Essential Functions:
- Lead electrical design tasks including requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, circuit simulation, schematic capture, and board layout
- Lead development and integration of new electrical hardware including processors and sensors.
- Respond to supplier support requests for electrical hardware ensuring program procurement schedules remain on schedule.
- Communicate needs/requirements/status to management and other engineering disciplines
- Partner with program teams to ensure programs are correctly staffed, engineering processes are being followed, and proposal efforts are supported
- Collaborate with site leadership to drive and assist understanding of new L3Harris tools and processes and flow down Division information to the site EE team
- Serve as EE functional representative for site specific design reviews and review/approval of proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) as needed
- Provide technical evaluation and oversight of program execution and lead/participate in technical issue resolution teams when required
- Ensure knowledge transfer and pairing of less experienced engineers with more experienced Hardware electrical engineers is established
- While this position is primarily local to the Ashburn site, travel may be required to support various programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Requires an active Secret Security Clearance and the ability to work SAP (Special Access Program)
- A minimum of 5 years of system level or circuit level design experience in either the Analog, RF, or Digital disciplines
- 2 or more years Functional Management Experience
- Professional experience with hardware Electrical Engineering, including requirements development and allocation, Interface Control Document (ICD) development, design implementation, Requirements verification and sell-off
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working with Space Borne, Aerospace or Military applications
- Altium Designer
- Effective communicator with proven ability to deliver and sustain measurable results
