Job Description:
The Environmental Heatly & Safety Specialist will ensure the safety and health of all employees and visitors to our facilities. The EH&S Specialist will develop and implement safety plans, conduct safety training, investigate accidents and hazards, and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce potential risks. The EH&S Specialist will also monitor the use of safety and personal protective equipment, as well as inspect the facility to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement safety plans, procedures, and policies in accordance with OSHA standards
- Monitor and inspect the facility and its equipment to ensure compliance
- Investigate accidents and hazardous conditions and recommend corrective measures. Conduct safety training and awareness programs.
- Monitor and suggest the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Stay informed of changes in safety regulations and legislation to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all safety-related documentation and records are properly maintained and updated.
- Respond to safety and health-related inquiries and complaints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 4-8 years’ experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
- 4-8 years’ experience and In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA, IBC, and other applicable EHS regulations.
- Practical understanding of ISO 14064-1 and GHG emissions management.
- Technical understanding of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
- Knowledge of safety laws, regulations, and standards
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with California State and regional EHS regulations.
- Subject matter expertise in OSHA regulations, NFPA electrical safety, air quality, storm water and DTSC hazardous waste, hazardous communication/chemical safety and emergency response.
- Involvement in high performance programs: VPP, ISO 45001, 14001
- Strong root cause analysis skills
- Experience using and leveraging EHS&S common systems, such as Gensuite and Sphera
- Teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analysis skills
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $69K-$128K. For California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $79-$147K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
