Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inspecting circuit card assemblies, familiarity with IPC-A-610/620, basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and the ability to perform source inspections at supplier facilities. This role is critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed Receiving Inspection of Printed Wiring Boards (PWB’s), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA’s), wire harnesses, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with internal or external standards.
  • Utilize basic GD&T knowledge to interpret engineering drawings and specifications during inspections.  Utilize basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, and x-ray equipment.
  • Identify and document any defects or non-conformances.  Work with vendors and Operations to address and resolve issues.  Assist with Return Material Authorization (RMA) process to return NC material to vendors.
  • Supports Material Review Board (MRB) activities to resolve supplier quality issues.
  • Conduct Source Inspections at supplier facilities, representing the company to ensure that supplied components and assemblies meet quality and contractual requirements.
  • Document and report findings from source inspections, and collaborate with suppliers to resolve any identified issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions and improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Active IPC-A-610 and 620 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for source inspections at supplier facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.  Familiarity with Statistical Process Control and other quality control methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ISO9001/AS9100D manufacturing organizations with a focus on government, military, and law enforcement products
  • Knowledge and experience using Costpoint ERP system and TIPQA quality management system.
  • IPC inspection experience (J-STD-001, IPC 610, etc.)
  • Willing to travel 25% to do source inspection/audits
  • Active clearance or willingness and ability to receive one

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $66,000. - $123,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
