Job Description:
The Program Management Excellence (PMX) team within the Maritime Sector is seeking a results-driven Principal of Digital Strategy & Transformation to lead Maritime's digital roadmap across core operating systems and enabling capabilities. The successful candidate should be experienced in digital strategy and program management within the Aerospace and Defense industry. The candidate will drive end-to-end digital transformation across core workstreams, partnering closely with Maritime leadership team, Sector IT, Business Relationship Managers, Business Process Owners, functional partners, and broader enterprise teams to deliver integrated, scalable solutions and measurable business value.
Essential Functions:
·Define and execute a multi-year digital transformation roadmap aligned to sector strategic objectives with measurable milestones and business-case-driven prioritization.
·Drive and support Maritime digital strategy and transformation priorities across sector programs and functions to enable short- and long-term goals.
·Evaluate emerging technologies (digital twin, model-based systems engineering, AI/ML-driven analytics) and build business cases for adoption.
·Own the business-side digital roadmap across core operating systems and enabling capabilities, including ERP, PLM, MES, QMS, MBSE, forecasting, procurement, analytics, and AI-enabled applications
·Partner with program teams and functional leaders to translate execution pain points and sector priorities into prioritized digital initiatives, use cases, and business requirements
·Lead cross-functional decision cadences to prioritize work, resolve tradeoffs, and sequence initiatives across interdependent functions, sites, and systems
·Develop business cases, value hypotheses, and investment recommendations for digital initiatives
·Define business requirements, process integration needs, adoption plans, and success metrics for sector digital initiatives
·Partner with Sector IT, GTBS, Business Relationship Managers, and Business Process Owners to shape solution direction and implementation plans
·Drive stakeholder alignment, communications, change management, and business readiness so deployed capabilities are adopted and deliver expected outcomes
·Coordinate sector data, analytics, BI, and AI use cases that support Maritime operations, program execution, and leadership decision-making
·Support continuous improvement projects and align PMX tools, metrics, and reporting needs with the broader digital roadmap
·Ability to Travel at least 25%
Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience,
oor post-graduate degree and 7 years of prior related experience,
oor in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
·Ability to obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance which requires US citizenship
·Prior experience with enterprise business systems and digital ecosystems such as ERP, PLM, MES, QMS, MBSE, forecasting, procurement, analytics, and AI-enabled applications
·Experience and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally across PMX, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, IT, and geographically dispersed teams
·Experience and demonstrated ability to translate business strategy and execution needs into actionable roadmaps, priorities, and requirements
·Experience and demonstrated ability to build business cases, identify problems and propose practical solutions
·Experience and demonstrated ability to present to executives/management on important topics
·Experience driving adoption, change management, and value realization for process and tool initiatives
Preferred Additional Skills:
·Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
·Prior experience in management consulting or dedicated digital transformation roles supporting enterprise change, process improvement, and technology-enabled business transformation
·Prior experience with portfolio prioritization, process integration, or value realization at sector or enterprise scale
·Prior experience providing training, change leadership, or adoption support to program teams or functional organizations
·Prior exposure to P&L, investment planning, or business trade studies
·Ability to Travel up to 50%
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington State, DC and Virginia (Greater D.C. area), Denver, or NYC areas is $153K-$284K. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia (outside of Greater D.C. area) is $133K-$247K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
