Job Description:
L3Harris’s Alpharetta location is looking for a new college graduate Quality Engineer to join the Military Displays Quality Engineering team. This QE will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, and field data. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Participates in material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Essential Functions:
- Perform root-cause, containment, proper corrective and preventive actions on non-conformances, customer returns, and /or Production quality escapes.
- Coordinate needed actions to support continued AS9100 certification
- Provides liaison activities with customers, suppliers, and Integrated Product Team members on all quality-related activities.
- Perform product quality audits to assure compliance with customer, drawing, internal, and regulatory requirements
- Support Operations to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
- Review trend analyses related to field returns, manufacturing rejects, supplier history, etc., and provide recommendations for improvement
- Interfaces with all departments
- Develop and manage data and metrics using Data Visualization tools and advanced excel.
- MRB/ECN Board representation and duties
- Responsible for participating in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.,
- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
- Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established L3Harris Ethics Standards. Responsible for working in a manner consistent with established safety rules and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Quality Trend Analysis and previous RCCA experience
- Experience working with multi-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations)
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills. Excellent Team Player with ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Aptitude to learn quality analysis techniques (statistical analysis, problem solving, process mapping, SPC, Root Cause and CAPA process)
- The individual must have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum oversight and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoin
