Job Description:

The Sales Engineering Manager (SEM) will support the sales team to develop & lead technical strategies on key customer pursuits in the northwest market. The SEM will help qualify and cultivate a customer account very early in the sales process. They will act as a trusted advisor to the sales organization, dealers and end customers serving to inform, influence, and position L3Harris products and services to win business with new and existing customers. The SEM will understand the customer requirements to develop a unique solution aligned with the customer priorities and budget. Finally, the SEM will transfer customer knowledge to the Bids & Proposals team and assist them in developing a winning proposal.  The SEM will use their customer and market knowledge to recommend new products and features to the product management teams executing the business technical strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with sales to understand the sales funnel, forecast and plan activities and customer engagements
  • Develop technical strategies for L3Harris products, program management and post-sales support capabilities to enhance our ability to win opportunities win differentiated offerings and compelling win themes
  • Lead customer and internal technical briefings that position L3Harris to win key opportunities
  • Provide thought leadership and coaching on account plans & capture strategies.
  • Drive proposal teams toward cost-effective and competitive solutions which meet customer requirements
  • Partner with sales, dealers, consultants, partners and customers to develop solutions
  • Facilitate the transfer of useful and timely market information to the sales team
  • Drive process improvements that will improve our sales effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ability to travel 50%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Radio experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Radio experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related Radio experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) products, technologies & the LMR marketplace.
  • Knowledge of LTE for public safety and FirstNet products, applications and services.
  • Knowledge of Mission Critical Push To Talk (MCPTT).
  • Knowledge of Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) products, technologies and their application.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and applications including Wi-Fi, radio over IP, voice over IP, virtual servers and cyber security.
  • Experience with  wireless communications products and technologies.
  • Experience developing and implementing winning technical strategies for IDIQ contract awards, Task Orders and other US Government contracting vehicles.
  • Ability to perform RF (Radio Frequency) network analysis, voice and data traffic analysis and wireless network configuration and design.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Pre-sales engineering experience with an understanding of the dynamics associated with competitive procurements.
  • Applicant must thrive in multiple simultaneous assignment environment.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $83,500 - $154,500. For California, Seattle and New York City, the salary range for this role is $92,500 - $172,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
