JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Closely partners with Product Manager and Program Manager assigned to the project throughout all stages of product development and release to production
- Assist in developing detailed plans including timelines, resources, and risk assessments
- Leads all technical aspects of a project to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Coordinate and review work done by various teams including engineers, technicians, manufacturing, vendors, and subcontractors
- Works to identify and remove roadblocks (internally across the organization and externally) for the team to help them progress in their development
- Plug any technical gaps that exist between the coverage of project team by providing the expertise needed or by pulling in the appropriate experts.
- Maintains effective communication between development team and stakeholders
- Develop/review technical documentation including interface control documents, operation/maintenance guides, test plans, schematics, system diagrams, etc.
- Participate in technical feasibility decisions
- Assist in integration, test, and debug as necessary with project teams
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in project engineering, design engineering or system engineering
- Hands on experience and ability to work in a lab environment
- Proven debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to synthesize between high level requirements into low level system and design specifications
- Experience developing schematics, assembly drawings, and electronics manufacturing
- Capable of interfacing with all departments in L3 Harris, vendors, subcontractors and customers
- Coordinate and review work done by other engineers (HW, SW, ME, CE, etc.), technicians and other support staff
- Ability to estimate efforts accurately and thoroughly
- Experience leading and interfacing with teams of multiple disciplines utilizing system’s engineering tools and resources
- Knowledge of production flow and processes
- Ability to perform project and resource planning
- Able to think at the system level as well as the component level
- Experience in writing proposals, BOEs, contract documents, and technical whitepapers
- Strong knowledge of communication systems
- Link 16 or other tactical communication experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
