This role provides enterprise-level technical leadership across multiple programs, captures, and technology initiatives, shaping test strategies that ensure mission success, technical rigor, affordability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
The Test Architect establishes the overall direction for test methodologies, validation frameworks, readiness criteria, anomaly resolution strategies, and technical governance. This individual works across engineering, program management, quality, production, supply chain, subcontractors, and customers to solve highly complex technical challenges, influence strategic decisions, and develop innovative solutions with broad organizational impact.
The ideal candidate is recognized internally and externally as a thought leader with deep expertise in system integration, Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T), verification and validation, mission payload test strategy, and EO/IR space system performance. This role requires strong technical judgment, executive-level communication, and the ability to influence business and engineering outcomes across the full program lifecycle.

Essential Functions:
•    Define and maintain the overall test architecture, verification and validation strategy, and integration approach for advanced EO/IR space systems across development, qualification, acceptance, and delivery support phases.
•    Serve as the senior technical authority for test strategy, test methodology, and system verification across multiple programs, pursuits, and technology developments.
•    Establish and drive innovative test concepts, architectures, and methodologies for complex or first-of-kind systems, ensuring alignment to mission requirements, technical performance, affordability, producibility, and mission assurance objectives.

•    Guide multidisciplinary engineering teams in the decomposition of system requirements into verification approaches, test methods, success criteria, and compliance evidence.
•    Define and govern test philosophies, readiness criteria, documentation standards, anomaly response frameworks, and technical review expectations across programs.
•    Lead the resolution of the most complex technical test and integration issues, anomalies, and nonconformances, including assessment of root cause, corrective actions, and near- and long-term mission impacts.
•    Direct complex trade studies to evaluate technical, operational, schedule, cost, reliability, producibility, and risk impacts of alternative test and integration solutions.
•    Influence system architecture, requirements allocation, and design decisions to improve testability, integration efficiency, verification completeness, and mission confidence.
•    Provide strategic oversight and technical direction for subcontractor and supplier test planning, execution, risk posture, and performance as applicable to system integration and mission success.
•    Partner with program leadership to develop executable technical plans, test roadmaps, staffing approaches, infrastructure strategies, and risk management plans that support program and business objectives.
•    Communicate complex technical issues, recommendations, and strategic options to executive leadership, customers, subcontractors, and U.S. Government stakeholders.
•    Establish and implement new processes, standards, tools, and best practices that improve integration and test performance, consistency, scalability, and organizational capability.
