Job Description:
Our Quality Control Managers are responsible for overseeing a team of inspectors and other quality professionals in performing inspections and audits of purchased parts and units. They must be able to interpret manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and part lists to determine whether units should be approved or rejected. Managers ensure that all supporting documentation is properly maintained and that performance data is accurately reviewed.
They also validate that in‑process and finished products meet company standards, and they determine or help determine the methods and procedures required for inspection. In addition, they verify that products and documentation comply with all applicable requirements and prepare items for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises a team of receiving and in-process inspectors in multiple areas.
- Communicate with parties inside and outside of own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
- Adjust basic procedures and processes.
- Plans and establish operational objectives for the team.
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
- Assure that the inspection of products in accordance with L3Harris Workmanship Standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, Control plans, and other requirements as needed.
- Ensure control of non-conforming product and maintenance of accurate records.
- Establishes training methods and program for new hires.
- Analyzes processes and problems to formulate and develop recommendations to meet customer and/or internal project requirements.
- Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts in process improvement, and infrastructure support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Able to effectively collaborate with peers in support of business objectives.
- Ability to instruct others in suitable measurement techniques.
- Ability to inspect complex geometries and assemblies.
- Practical knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2009.
- CMM Programming and best practices Calypso knowledge preferred.
- Deep understanding of metrology.
- Surface plate inspection knowledge.
- Understands basic supervisory approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $96,000 - $178,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
