About the Role
The Sr. Specialist, Configuration Management Projects serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, leading and supporting cross-functional initiatives involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, managing system improvements, and driving successful implementation of projects that improve operational efficiency, data integrity, and business performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead complex business transformation, digitalization, and enterprise systems initiatives that improve operational performance and support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional projects involving ERP, PLM, MES, and related enterprise applications, including project planning, scheduling, risk management, resource coordination, and stakeholder communications.
- Partner with business stakeholders, leadership, vendors, consultants, customers, and technical teams to define requirements, align objectives, and deliver effective business and technology solutions.
- Identify, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, process maps, functional specifications, testing scenarios, and implementation plans.
- Analyze current and future-state business processes to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, standardization, integration, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate workshops, reviews, and stakeholder meetings to drive collaboration, resolve issues, and gain alignment on business processes, policies, and technology solutions.
- Lead and support the implementation, enhancement, optimization, and integration of ERP, PLM, MES, and related systems, including product lifecycle management processes from concept through end-of-life.
- Ensure data integrity, master data governance, process compliance, system effectiveness, and adherence to organizational standards.
- Develop business reporting requirements, KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to support operational decision-making and measure project success.
- Perform data analysis and lead investigations into complex business and system issues, utilizing root cause analysis and innovative problem-solving approaches to implement effective solutions.
- Provide project oversight by coordinating and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Lead organizational change management activities, including the development of training materials, user documentation, standard operating procedures, end-user training, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Drive adoption of new processes, technologies, policies, procedures, and best practices through effective communication, stakeholder engagement, coaching, and knowledge transfer.
- Contribute to departmental operational planning, prioritization of initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve business goals and enhance overall organizational performance.
- Opportunity to lead/drive/support projects in other parts of Specialty Engineering (e.g. ILS, reliability, safety, XCE)

- Strong understanding of data governance, reporting, metrics, and performance measurement, with the ability to leverage data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while exercising sound judgment and independent decision-making.
- Ability to lead organizational change through stakeholder engagement, training, coaching, and adoption of new systems, processes, and best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide guidance, mentoring, and subject matter expertise while fostering collaboration and accountability across cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of Configuration Management systems and automated business tools, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, ensuring data integrity, process compliance, and accuracy across Configuration Management activities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functional areas to achieve business objectives and maintain configuration control
- Relevant Configuration Management experience in an engineering environment is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Teamcenter PLM System, Enterprise Resource Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems is highly desirable
- Strong business experience in an aerospace industry with knowledge of regulatory compliance (AS9100D)
- CM2 or other Configuration Certification would be an asset
- Lean/Six-Sigma certification would be an asset
- PMP certification would be an asset
Desired Education and Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
*This posting is for a current vacancy. In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $102,000 to $130,000
