As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work independently to organize and maintain Demo / Training / Loaner & Ancillaries assets in the Demo Management Office (DMO) on continuous basis.
- Maintain Customer Experience Center technical setups for seamless training course delivery and demos
- Plan, setup and execute In-House Customer Demonstrations, showcasing the products capabilities and features
- Configure, troubleshoot, remedy and update all demo MX systems requiring repairs, tuning or TIB’s / Mod Kits.
- Take ownership of the “small tools” demo budget; order / re-supply damaged tools or consumables.
- Independently track and report on location of assets through Asset Tracking System (ATS) database
- Proactively create packing, transfer and / or shipping requests in ATS software management tool for shipping and receiving equipment.
- Independently handle daily shipping/ receiving of demo assets; pack and unpack equipment in and out of cases.
- Coordinate and communicate directly with Sales Account Managers and their customers to define demo concept of operation, equipment scope and systems configuration.
- Compile kit list, document and communicate MX system configurations to be demonstrated by others
- Collaboratively design/ fabricate missing ancillary equipment peripherals to support MX product installations on customer vehicle platforms or integrated mission systems
- Independently configure, backup and test MX camera features, options and stability proviso per customer and export requirements.
- Provide support to Demo technician in validating the proposed integrated system solution prior to customer equipment delivery.
- Make suggestions on support equipment procurement and solutions development for complex demonstration scenarios
- Perform daily safety inspections on all lift / handling equipment
- Receive, signoff, and dispense all miscellaneous packages delivered to shipping for Sales & Marketing and Customer Service Group
- Respond to / direct Customer / Sales Account Manager inquiries related to MX products
- Update BPMS documents, workflows and datasheets to ensure procedures are up to date and relevant to all products
Required Capabilities
- Experience with operating and troubleshooting WESCAM MX family of products
- Experience in the assembly and / or repair of WESCAM MX family of Products
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
- Familiarity with WESCAM maintenance software is an asset
- Experience in the use of test and measurement tools, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, calipers etc.
- Familiarity with the use of software / firmware programing tools such as MPLAB and Xilinx
- Strong administrative skills with understanding of logistics operations.
- Knowledgeable in the use of MS-Office software programs
- Works proficiently alone or in-group setting.
- Ability to do small group presentations
- 3 years’ experience in the Maintenance and Repair of WESCAM MX family of products an asset
Desired Education and Experiences
- Community College Diploma in mechanical / electrical technology or equivalent
- Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills.
- 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
*This posting is for a current vacancy. In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $70,000-95,000 /yr.
