Job Description:

Working at Trenchant means working alongside the best security researchers and product engineers from across the security research and intelligence communities. You will be engaged on the most challenging problems in the toughest environments and delivering solutions supporting the cutting edge of cyber security research. The primary work location is downtown Washington, DC adjacent to Metro Center. Infrequent travel to our Ottawa, London and Sydney offices in support of technical exchanges is highly encouraged. We require team members with an eye for security, to serve as key contributors on the Global Engineering Support team. The candidate must possess first-class System Engineering, Networking, and infosec skills and an eye for organization.

Trenchant’s expertise is the by-product of the L3Harris acquisition of two highly-regarded information security businesses – Azimuth Security and Linchpin Labs. United under Trenchant, we are a key component of L3Harris’ Cyber Division. We are a trusted, discrete partner furnishing security products, consultancy, training and integration services to allied security, defense, and law enforcement agencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Own and manage mobile device test range with several hundred devices (Android and iOS).
  • Manage custom Python applications for test automation and range access.
  • Work with Information Technology and Business Operations teams to order new hardware, devices, and associated resources.
  • Build new automations to manage mobile devices, VMs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure and manage existing, and new containerized applications.
  • Triage and diagnose network performance issues, ensuring stable testing infrastructure for security engineering and research teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience configuring and testing applications on Android and iOS devices
  • Experience building and maintaining a hardware mobile device testing environment
  • Experience with a modern scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly organized

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS security clearance with ability to obtain SCI
  • Experience working in an air-gapped environment
  • Broad experience administering and securing modern server, desktop and mobile operating systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and securing networks and associated devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, IPSec, VPNs)
  • Experience with containers and orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with a common cloud provider (AWS preferred)
  • Knowledge of public-key infrastructure
  • Previous experience supporting software development teams and an understanding of the basic software development lifecycle

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington DC is 70,500 - 130,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
