Job Description:
This position will report directly to the VP, International Business Development (BD), aligned to the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment, and will be responsible for protecting and growing the IMS portfolio in Mainland Europe and NATO. The IMS Segment consists of Airborne ISR, Maritime, and EO/IR sectors. The preferred candidate should have demonstrated success pursuing major defense acquisition programs across Airborne, Maritime, and Ground domains both at the platform and system level and must possess trusted relationships with OEMs, regional industry, and MOD personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Protect & grow the Airborne ISR, Maritime, and EO/IR turret franchises within the region.
- Maintain expertise in regional politics, regulations, relationships, and acquisition processes across European region.
- Establish strong and intimate relationships with key regional customers and NATO.
- Understand products and capabilities across IMS Segment to position, differentiate, and message effectively.
- Build partnerships with local industry to meet offset and industrial participation requirements.
- Support and strengthen relationships with large OEMs, focused on their local offices.
- Collaborate and communicate across employees and representatives in the region, corporate country leaders, and U.S.-based businesses.
- Keep internal customer and opportunity database up to date; support inputs to the Annual Operating Plan and long-term planning.
- Develop impactful messaging, white papers, and briefing material for both internal and external customers.
- Engage in requirements-based discussions, build and execute strategy, and manage resources.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of defense, intelligence, adjacent markets and customers across airborne, maritime, and ground domains in European region.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent military experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 20 years of prior related experience or equivalent military experience is required.
- Demonstrated success shaping and closing international sales of major platforms and systems valued at greater than $100M USD.
- Familiarity with U.S. export regulations and agencies.
- Must be already in or willing to relocate to Europe (preferably Poland or Germany) with the willingness to work mornings or evenings to connect with U.S.-based colleagues.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong cultural understanding of the European region with previous time spent in-region.
- Experience in Airborne ISR capabilities, Maritime capabilities, or EO/IR Sensors.
- Understanding of key industry partners and OEMs in the region, to include major shipyards.
- Fluency in German and Polish.
- Ability to operate remotely from the main L3Harris facilities in the region
- Must have strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and exceptional communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional multinational teams spanning Government Relations, Program Management, and Engineering to deliver successful campaign results.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills.
