Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to perform as on-site trainer for both formal training and On-the-Job Training (OJT). Provides 80-hour option blocks of formal training for all courses other than Satellite Configuration Control Element (SCCE) at the Wideband SATCOM Operations Center (WSOC), Management and Planning sites, and the Defense Network Operations Centre (DNOC) site. Revises current course material or develops new course material based on changes to hardware and software baselines for control systems and ancillary equipment, using Government-provided New Equipment Training (NET) packages or other source materials developed by the applicable production or Postproduction Software Support/Post Deployment Software Support (PPSS/PDSS) contractor. Integrates any NET packages into the appropriate block of instruction as fielding occurs. Delivers course results, certificates of training, and a list of personnel trained upon successful completion of each course. Develops, maintains, and conducts continuous OJT and training courses to include all operational aspects of the Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS) and subsystems. Develops operational OJT course outlines.
Essential Functions:
The Technical Trainer duties include but are not limited to:
- Develops and revises training courses covering all aspects of the operation of the Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Operations and Technical Support (WSOTS) in accordance with current Concepts of Operations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Conducts each course as listed in the Training Course Catalogue except for Replacement Satellite Configuration Control Element (RSCCE) (L3H-1014) and Global Satellite Configuration Control Element (GSCCE) (L3H-1066).
- Provides required operations support program training at customer sites.
- Coordinates and schedules training activities as required and interfaces with customers and field personnel to ensure training requirements and definitions are current.
- Researches, develops, and maintains training course materials and documentation.
- Acts as first responder for Information Technology (IT) Management Specialist (IMS) emergency issues as the training schedule permits.
- Performs OJT and informal training support as required.
- Supports other training staff as required.
- Supports IMS and TSS in the execution of their duties as required. Provides training to IMS and TSS personnel as required.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- SATCOM and instructional experience in a military environment.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. Security+), or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Six (6) years of MILSATCOM experience.
- An emphasis on computer-based satellite network control systems and IT.
- Experience in the use of IT tools for managing and troubleshooting complex computer networks.
- Experience in the management of WSOTS computer networks with skills particular to the administration of a Windows and AD domain environment.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Hawaii is $58,500 - $108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
