Job Description:
L3Harris has an availability for a Field Technician to joing our Public Safety & Professional Communications sector. The Field Technician will be responsible for supporting our customers within the South Virginia area.
Technician will perform a variety of maintenance and technical support tasks on products such as equipment, integrated systems and sub systems, and software at customer locations. Troubleshoots and performs diagnostics tests of equipment. Performs software and firmware updates on equipment. Interfaces with customer and customer users.
Essential Functions:
- Travel within the service area (company provided vehicle)
- Available to be on-call, after hours, weekends, holidays
- Work independent of supervision (after release from training)
- Interface with team to assist in troubleshooting and planning efforts
- Interface with customer to communicate repair and maintenance plans
- Translate technical information to non-technical population
- 20% travel within the state of Virginia
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with diagnostic equipment (service monitors, watt meters)
- Experience with software diagnostics tools (wire shark, telenet)
- Experience with Router/Switching/IP training
