Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact for our customers. In this role, you will lead electronics design efforts utilizing industry-standard electrical design and analysis tools, including schematic capture, functional and block diagram generation, and electrical wiring diagrams — spanning digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal designs. You will work closely with a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT), partnering alongside Systems, Mechanical, Software, Firmware, and Electrical Engineers, as well as Technicians, to deliver innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage project costs and schedules while meeting critical milestones, and will serve as a key contributor during Customer reviews. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting our Precision Electronic Warfare business at our State College, PA facility.

We are excited to find the right person for this opportunity and look forward to reviewing your application!

Essential Functions:
•    Knowledge of electronic design and simulation tools such as Xpedition, Altium, OrCAD, Spice, and Mentor Graphics tools.
•    Create design review packages and present circuit designs at peer reviews. This includes analysis, performance budgets, and test data that demonstrate how the design will meet functional requirements.
•    Create test plans and test procedures to validate that circuit implementation meets functional requirements.
•    Readily translate system-level requirements into detailed implementation level block diagrams.
•    Lead bench-level system integration with hardware, microcontroller, FPGA, and software designs.
•    Work with our Operations team to transition test and integration of new electronic hardware to the production phase.
•    Support the planning and execution of project plans and design reviews; involvement in production release of modified or new product documentation.
•    Demonstrate mastery of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
•    Review product specifications; generate system and module-level block diagrams, flow diagrams, and design concepts.
•    Generate trade studies with analysis of cost and schedule impacts on short turnaround efforts.
•    Support proposal efforts and early stages of the program to define detailed system requirements.
•    Design, build, and test of digital and mixed signal circuit boards.
•    Experience with board design using microcontrollers.
•    Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging in embedded C.
•    Experience with Python and other scripting tools for verification of hardware I/O.
•    Familiarity with Ethernet, RS-485, I2C, and other electronic communication protocols.
•    Knowledge of Linux operating system and familiarity with command line execution.
•    Ability and desire to own development through all phases of the product lifecycle.
•    Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

•    Active DOD Secret, TS, or TS/SCI clearance.
•    Unique ability to combine electronic warfare system knowledge with digital, analog, and RF design.
•    Thorough understanding of version control best practices and tools (e.g., Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management).
•    Self-motivated individual with the ability to work and communicate effectively within a development group.
•    Experience with preparing presentation materials.
•    Willingness to travel occasionally in support of program activities.
•    4+ years of experience in digital electronics technology, parts availability, and design architecture.
•    4+ years of design experience through the development cycle completing with integration and test of circuit designs.
