Job Description: The Production Planner interfaces with multiple departments and organizations and is primarily responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed on schedule.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate, Coordinate, and Negotiate workflow through multiple work centers via various functional organizations to secure needed resources while ensuring changing customer demands, and schedule deadlines are met.
  • Provide assistance to production floor in resolving production issues.
  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, manufacturing and program support, and communication support.
  • Ensure availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Assists with resolving material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Lead schedule meetings for main production area.
  • Assist Sr. planners with daily tasks and documentation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance.

Qualifications: 

  • Requires practical knowledge of job area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • 1-2 years production planning experience.
  • 2 years professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Top Secret clearance preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $74,500 - $99,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
