Job Description:
For the past 60+ years, Telemetry and RF Products has been an industry-leading provider of highly reliable and secure RF communication products for Space and Airborne missions. We are looking for a strong leader to take on a vital role as the Director of programs, reporting to the T&RF General Manager. The Director of Programs manages a team of program managers and a portfolio of programs within the T&RF business unit. The programs are within the TacSatCom terminal and Space RF communication mission areas, and include both government, commercial, and inter-company contracts. The portfolio will typically have 20-25 programs will total annual revenue ranging from $100M-$120M. This portfolio will be one of two within the T&RF business unit. The Director of Programs is responsible for the successful program execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team morale of all programs within the portfolio. The Director of Programs is also responsible for the growth of the portfolio, in collaboration with other members of the leadership team and business development team.
Essential Functions:
• Manage a functional team of program managers (6-8 individuals)
• Manage a portfolio of programs that vary in size from <$1 million studies to $50+ million production programs
• Own accountability for the cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, and team morale of the selected programs within the portfolio, through all phases from inception to completion
• Drive the programs within the portfolio to successful execution. Work with the matrix organization to ensure proper staffing and timely and successful execution of all program gates and milestones
• Ensure delivery of key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue, operating income, and free cash flow
• Provide accurate forecasting of financial metrics
• Establish and nurture high-level customer relationships for programs within the portfolio
• Effectively communicate within the functional team and program teams, upward with internal executive leadership, and externally with the customer to influence stakeholders for business success
• Mentor and guide the direct reporting program managers. Support them in career development, training, and progressively challenging assignments. Hire and grow the functional team as required by portfolio size
• Expand existing programs within the portfolio. Grow the portfolio by proactively identifying and capturing additional scope, follow-on work, and adjacent opportunities
Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
• Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals
• Team leadership experience
• Experience leading complex hardware and software development contracts with profit and loss responsibility
• Experience in both fixed price and cost-plus contract types with government entities
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
• Strong customer relations with Aerospace primes, DOD and Intel customers
• Solid technical background with strong business and strategy acumen
• Experience implementing strategies to influence external stakeholders for business advantage
• Knowledge of Government contracting practices
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $180,500-$335,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
