Job Description:
L3Harris Communication Systems-West (CSW) is seeking an experienced technical trainer. The successful candidate primarily develops courseware or storyboards using PowerPoint software and Adobe Captivate authoring tool. Infrequently, duties include conducting stand-up instruction to Department of Defense (DoD) personnel at CONUS and OCONUS sites.
Essential Functions:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with all program stakeholders to include engineers, customers, and project managers
- Experience with developing course curricula, methodology, and training materials such as lesson plans, trainee guides, storyboards, and computer-based training aids
- Experience in developing military training courseware
- Experience researching and analyzing detailed technical source data to extract technical information (understanding schematic diagrams, mechanical drawings, interconnect drawings, and parts lists)
- Ability to format documents to meet contract requirements
- Proofreading and editing skills to recognize and act upon documentation inconsistencies
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with project and time management and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with instructional design
- Knowledge in networking, networking devices, and Command Line Interface (CLI) a plus
- Proficient in Adobe Captivate and Adobe Acrobat
- Military service a plus
- Support 20% travel and extended work days when traveling and teaching courses
- Obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
