Job Description:
L3Harris is currently seeking a Specialist, Project Lead for the circuit card assembly (CCA) and printed circuit board (PCB) design teams. The individual will join the design team and contribute to schedule management, budget control, milestone delivery, and team collaboration. The team member will be responsible for coordinating the technical execution of circuit card assembly development efforts while providing direct support to program leadership in the areas of schedule, budget, and execution tracking. This person may participate in cost estimation for bid and proposal efforts for future work—i.e. pursuits.
The CCA/PCB Project Lead will monitor project status, organize and communicate cost and schedule information, identify risks, and generate recovery actions. The individual will regularly interface between functional and project leadership teams to ensure alignment between activities. This team member will help ensure circuit card development efforts are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining visibility into key technical milestones, deliverables, and dependencies. The individual will assist with scheduling key gate reviews, ensure persons attending the reviews have had adequate time to review the content, verify action items from the reviews are properly resolved, and support our culture of timely reviews of critical design artifact releases.
Essential Functions:
- Uses and understands Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Primary owner for control accounts to analyze schedule and cost variances. Implements corrective action plans to correct deficiencies.
- Determines Estimate to Complete (ETC) on a monthly basis for headcount and workload predictions.
- Has strong skills in project planning and task coordination. Partners with functional and program teams to create Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs) to link hardware schedules with overarching project milestones.
- Can work closely with design engineers, systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program management.
- Demonstrates experience supporting or leading technical reviews, status reviews, and design review preparation.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present technical and programmatic status to stakeholders.
- Able to identify schedule, cost, and technical risks and help drive mitigation and recovery plans.
- Is proficient with common project tracking and reporting tools.
- Able to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant project management experience including financial and schedule tracking. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading or coordinating CCA/PCB (aka PWA/PWB) hardware-development efforts in a cross-functional engineering environment.
- Familiarity with hardware development lifecycle requirements, configuration management, and change control processes.
- Familiar with Jira, MS Project, or other schedule software.
- Familiar with Confluence and Collaborator peer review and note tools.
- Familiar with cost estimating tools such as Deltek ProPricer.
- Experienced in PLM tools—ideally Siemens Teamcenter.
- Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio software.
- Familiarity with aerospace/defense hardware-design lifecycles.
