Job Description:
Oversees and directs the Security activities during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with organizational and industrial requirements. Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations in compliance with established procedures. Provides and ensures an excellent level of customer service to employees and non-employees while executing assigned duties. Coordinates security activities on shifts. Receives emergency and non-emergency calls. Interacts with other emergency organizations (fire, police, etc.). Provides administrative support for shift. Will be required to perform various Security patrols and duties.
Dispatches officers on routine and emergency basis. Ensures contract security officers are performing their duties to the standard established in the agreement between the company and the contract organization. Monitors and responds to emergency systems i.e. Fire Panel, emergency phone lines, radio. Monitors access control, intrusion detection systems, video management, and other related systems. Responds to alarms. Informs Security Management, Facilities Management, EH&S, and other required parties of issues, as defined by established procedures. Generate and distribute security record reports as requested. Enters data into activity logs and applicable databases. Issues badges and updates various badge tracking programs. Assists visitors and employees with various aspects of the site, policies, and compliance. Monitors the facility for risks and initiates action to mitigate identified risks. Makes recommendations to security management for improving risk management solutions. Assist in the training and development of contract officers in relevant systems, dispatch responsibilities, and other established requirements. All other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Operating a computer and other office equipment including a phone, copier, and printer throughout each day.
- Operating specialized security and building management systems including access control, alarm, radio, digital video, intrusion detection, visitors management, fire system monitoring, and similar systems.
- Working in 24’x12’ office shared with one other worker routinely and occasionally more workers.
- Moving around the office and outside (year-round) throughout the day, including walking, bending, reaching above shoulder level, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently corresponding with others regarding security and organizational policies and practices. Must be able to communicate accurate information.
- Knowledge of Security and ability to learn and perform security processes.
- Ability to routinely handle emergency or time-sensitive high-stress situations.
- Ability to work in shifts, routinely up to 12 hours per day and overtime as required by operational needs

Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience with a Security, Police, Military, Fire, or Emergency Medical organization.
- Computer literacy is mandatory with demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of security access control, digital video management, intrusion detection, emergency response, and radios.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Superior Customer Service skills.
- This position requires tact and diplomacy. The ability to manage high stress and pressure situations and apply proper task prioritization is also mandatory.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in criminal justice, security administration, business administration, public administration or related equivalency
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Industry security certifications, such as PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPO (Certified Protection Officer), or CSSM (Certified in Security Supervision and Management)
- Experience working with the following software: Security Expert, Salient Systems, Envoy, Archibus, MS Office, MS SharePoint, and Bold Manitou
- Experience working in a UL 2050 listed alarm monitoring center
- One year of experience or more in leading others
