Schedule: Weekday (schedule: 9/80; w/Friday coverage; 40 hrs)- No shift differential pay
L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking an Manufacturing Technician C to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility.
Position Overview: This person will contribute to the company’s success by performing test and debug operations on a variety of LRU (Line Replaceable Units), circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and components. This role will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is responsible for successfully testing and debugging L3 products for delivery or repair.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Completes manufacturing in compliance with quality specifications, providing mentoring to lower level technicians and assemblers
- Implements and provides feedback for operation sequence, and the ability to achieve manufacturing requirements and specifications
- Develops methods, tooling, and assembly aids required to achieve special design engineering requirements
- Corrects manufacturing failures by making adjustments, or replacing parts or components as directed
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Performs continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business
- Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure
- Uphold high ethical standards
- Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs
- Assist Manufacturing Process Engineering on trends, root causes and corrective actions
- Participate in process improvement activities
- Adherence to L3Harris policies and procedures, including but not limited to, calibration of equipment, ESD (electrostatic discharge), FOD (foreign object debris/damage) and general housekeeping.
- A resource to other employees in areas of expertise
- Works under limited supervision
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Management
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in prototype and first time build processes
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing process improvement through adoption of more efficient methods using tools such as, lean, six sigma, just do it, and TOC techniques Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints
- Able to lift up to 32 lbs. independently
- Experience with SAP, SAPME, TeamCenter enterprise resource planning and lifecycle management software
