Job Description:
L3Harris Broadband Communications Sector (BCS) is seeking a Lead,Systems Engineer to lead the design and architecture of cutting edge communications systems and networks from a technical perspective and provide technical leadership for DoD programs. The Lead System Engineer is responsible for the life-cycle support of communications systems from conceptual development through product phase-out, including but not limited to architecture development, customer briefings, proposal writing, and customer requirements management. This will include technical documentation, technical project management, design oversight, prototype and production build and test support, integration, verification and qualification, system deployment support and in-house technical support during the operational life-cycle of the system. Active Secret US DoD clearance, TS clearance preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering development and/or program management, including proposal efforts.
- Understanding of all aspects of DoD development and program lifecycle: Design, Implementation, Verification, Production, and Sustainment.
- Understanding of wireless communication theory with working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design of digital line-of-sight and satellite communication systems.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral) and formal presentation skills.
- Guides technical vision and ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to schedule by all technical organizations associated with a given project/program.
- Leads requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility, and manages traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirements.
- Proficient in personnel management and team collaboration.
- Experience in risk management and ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience..
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong experience in establishing, maintaining, and growing DevSecOps resources
- Strong experience in establishing, maintaining, and growing CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure
- Demonstrated capability to maintain a PaaS ecosystem
- Strong desire for experience with Hashicorp enterprise solutions
- CKA,CKD or equivalent
- Security+
- DoD 8570 Level 2
