Job Description:
The Finance Lead will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Communications System segment’s investment portfolio with a strong focus on business cases and profitability assessment.The successful candidate will be a highly analytical, self-starter and collaborative problem solver who is skilled in managing uncertain situations and ambiguity as well as ability to influence co-workers outside of their reporting chain and functional area.
Essential Functions:
- Manage Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Capital financial plan for the Communications Systems Segment.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure organizational alignment for our investment portfolio.
- Facilitate financial models and business cases for IRAD, Capital and other ad hoc requests as needed.
- Review and guide sectors on all Capital requests above 250k for executive approval.
- Support CS Strategy Development function and L3H Technology Office by communicating plans, projects, status, issues, and actions
- Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans.
- Update use of dashboards with key metrics, analyze results, and summarize findings to support leadership decision-making.
- Manage a rotating resource from the finance leadership development program.
- Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure accurate short and long-term forecast, as well as effective use of investment dollars for both IRAD and Capital.
- Expert point of contact for IRAD financial database. Provide execution guidance, training and continued evolution of templates.
- Participate in compressive Communications Systems monthly financial review process.
- Additional support and leadership of ad hoc Communication Systems FP&A projects and deliverables as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field and minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Finance or Business Administration and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in finance.
- Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and time frames consistently
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience using, enhancing and creating Power BI dashboards
- Financial modeling in Microsoft Excel
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills; be self-directed, proactive, and possess good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Highly motivated worker, comfortable working independently in a deadline driven environment, where accountability and attention to detail are critical
- Strong written and oral communication skills, project a professional demeanor, and be capable of working effectively with junior to upper-level coworkers
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $107,500 - $199,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
