Job Description:
The L3Harris Communication Systems segment is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Lead Software Engineer well versed in the leadership and design of large software applications to join an experienced Agile engineering organization. The individual will work in a team environment supporting tactical radio products, contribute to the implementation and integration of software solutions, and support end-user engagement feedback. This lead SW engineer will help develop creative solutions for our customer's problems. As a technical and team leader of the staff, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative in the efficient development of complex systems throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of technical challenges including both the development methods as well as enforcing organizational behaviors to ensure quality. Experience with high-level programming languages such as C++ is expected.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership of the entire product implementation cycle including system/software requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, implementation, automated testing, integration, documentation
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of best practices for embedded software design, code development processes, release processes and scrum methodology
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to convey technical and business matters in a clear and logical manner to technical and non-technical staff.
- Support technical recruiting, technical onboarding, and technical mentoring
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in Software Engineering.
- Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Project estimation experience
- Embedded SW experience.
- Experience with object-oriented coding languages and practices, preferably C++.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum.
- Experience with software-defined radios in a tactical environment.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in York State is $115,000 - $213,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
