Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Senior Digital Engineering lead that will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of the digital engineering roadmap capabilities within the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) segment. This position has the responsibility to lead the integration of digital engineering practices across various projects. This role partners with both functional and programmatic leaders within Engineering to implement the Digital Engineering strategy including but not limited to Product Lifecycle Management PLM (Teamcenter), Model Based Design, Application Lifecycle Management, DevSecOps, Model Based Systems Engineering, JIRA, and Digital Thread.
A successful candidate will need to be a change agent to help strengthen the engineering rigor of the organization by working collaboratively with the IMS Engineering leadership team to ensure strong execution of digital engineering work products. This leader will be expected to display a strategic mindset and possess strong project planning, business/financial acumen, excellent judgment, be a forward thinker, have strong communications skills and a high initiative/bias for action. Strong sensitivity to the enterprise financial forces, organizational dynamics, and influence pathways is critical to success.
This role reports to the Segment Director of Engineering Operations.
Essential Functions:
- Develop short-term and long-term objectives and roadmaps to achieve IMS Digital Engineering Team Key Results goals
- Establish and maintain a digital engineering ecosystem that supports automated approaches for the system's lifecycle, including digital models, digital twins, and digital threads
- Identify and author Digital Engineering command media
- Project leader for active Product Lifecycle Management deployments.
- Mentor and develop staff at all levels, enhancing technical capabilities and building a culture of continuous improvement
- Partner with Segment and CHQ engineering leadership in the development and execution of the Digital Engineering Strategy, interfacing regularly with the program leadership team and other cross-functional members of the IMS leadership team
- Collaborate with peers/counterparts in other segments to partner on initiatives, leverage Digital Engineering best practices, and enact economies-of-scale benefits across the L3Harris Enterprise
- Travel may be required up to 10%
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- 10+ years’ experience working with large multi-site functional teams and managing complex projects
- 10+ years’ engineering development program experience
- 5+ years’ of experience with Product Life Cycle Management.
- Practitioner experience with industry-standard tools
- Experience with one or more of the following areas: Model Based Definition, Application Lifecycle Management, DevSecOps, Model Based Systems, Engineering, Digital Thread
- EVMS Practitioner Competency
- Demonstrates leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experienced in project planning software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks and issues to deployment schedules throughout project lifecycles.
- Knowledgeable of industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to Digital Engineering initiative implementations.
- Requires US citizenship

- Experience leading functional engineering scope, with demonstrated success in managing remote work across geographically dispersed teams.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Change agent with demonstrated examples; comfortable vigorously challenging the status quo
- Ability to take calculated risks, achieve success or fail quickly, learn, and move ahead
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills
