Job Description:
The Sr. Manager, Project Manager will be responsible for participating in the conceptual development of a project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation. They will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget materials and man-hours. The Associate, Project Manager will communicate through subordinate supervisory personnel intentions concerning the alteration, repair or maintenance of ships and ship’s systems. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Perform the requirements for ship yard new construction or ship repair project management.
- Must possess experience with corporate finance, government contracts, material procurement, customer relations.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.
- Communicate and motivate supervisory and field personnel to accomplish desired goals.
- Provide guidance and direction for up to eight employees.
- Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard items, and contractual requirements.
- Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years supervisory experience with electrical, structural, or mechanical Navy shipboard repair, modernization, and maintenance projects.
- OR Graduate Degree with four (4) years supervisory experience with electrical, structural, or mechanical Navy shipboard repair, modernization, and maintenance projects.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years supervisory experience with electrical, structural, or mechanical Navy shipboard repair, modernization, and maintenance projects.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Deltek and CostPoint finance systems.
- NAVSEA experience.
