Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Microsoft Windows systems administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of both Windows, Linux, and network system infrastructures, and level one application support. This role involves a blend of systems administration, system patching &hardening, system/software deployment automation, and network management.
Essential Functions:
- Administer and support daily operations of Windows and Linux servers, and Cisco networking devices ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and availability.
- Manage network configurations to optimize performance and ensure security compliance.
- Implement regular system updates and patches, minimizing vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Harden systems by configuring and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools for deployment automation, striving for increased efficiency in our operational processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand program requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Communicate complex technical issues and strategies to management and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to support limited offsite travel, overtime work, and have the ability to lift and move equipment (20 LBS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- One year of experience as a System/Network Administrator managing an enterprise level domain.
- Current/Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with ability to obtain Poly
Preferred Additional Skills:
- General knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking protocols, PowerShell, and security best practices.
- Basic knowledge of LINUX (RedHat REL 7/8, Centos, Ubuntu).
- CCNA/CCNP and/or 1 year of experience managing Cisco routers and switches at the enterprise level.
- Experience with VMware or similar virtualization software.
- Experience managing IT projects.
- Experience with Commvault or similar backup system software.
- Experience managing systems under the NIST Risk Management Framework.
