Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies, Space and Mission Systems, Intel & Cybersecurity is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate, Procurement to join our COTS Procurement team. This role supports the full purchase order lifecycle for Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) materials and provides administrative procurement support to the broader team. The Associate will support administrative procurement tasks and assist with basic sourcing activities, supplier coordination, documentation, and compliance tasks in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and able to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. L3Harris supports a wide variety of U.S. Federal Government, Defense, Aerospace, and commercial programs, requiring strict adherence to government and agency laws, regulations, and procurement policies.
Essential Functions:
• Supports the procurement of COTS commodities of low complexity under close guidance from senior team members.
• Provides administrative procurement support including:
– Open order statusing
– Vendor adds and profile changes
– Manual receivers and shippers
– Purchase order backouts
– Scorecard adjustments
• Assists in the procurement acquisition process, including issuing Requests for Quotes (RFQs), gathering supplier responses, supporting quote evaluations, and source selections.
• Learns and applies basic negotiation fundamentals such as best value considerations, lead times, and payment terms.
• Prepares and maintains procurement documentation to ensure compliance with internal processes and applicable Government regulations (FAR/DFAR).
• Assists in managing supplier relationships by communicating routine needs and coordinating resolution of low‑complexity Supplier Support Requests or Non‑Conformance issues.
• Communicates professionally with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support cross‑functional requests, information gathering, and process inquiries.
• Collaborates closely with team members and demonstrates a willingness to learn procurement principles and systems.
• Maintains strong organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks with close attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of procurement experience in the aerospace industry.
- In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of four (4) years of procurement experience in the aerospace industry.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 2 years of experience with MRP/ERP Software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS Procurement regulations.
- Takes proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
- Ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
