Job Description:
The Operations Organization is looking for an experienced and transformational leader to manage Production Planning and Execution across the Airborne Combat Systems enterprise. Duties include managing the development and maintenance of complex production schedules including resource loading and Earned Value Analysis. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to anticipate production roadblocks, including material shortages, delays, quality issues, capacity constraints, and other obstacles to hardware flow. Provide daily & weekly work priorities to program assembly teams. Ensure compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines. Support program schedule reviews to communicate status and help needed to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, status, and maintain hardware production schedules (MS Project) in coordination with internal stakeholders such as design engineering and supply chain.
- Provide daily/weekly work priorities to the program assembly team and track performance metrics for senior leadership, program, and customer reporting.
- Perform root cause analysis on missed metrics or process escapes, develop and implement corrective and preventative actions for schedule recovery.
- Develop, maintain, and create visual displays for production floor of metrics that measure manufacturing performance against cost and schedule goals.
- Support development of process standards and standard work times to drive consistency in operations and continuous improvement in labor efficiency utilization lean principles.
- Support management and movement of inventory through production including build documentation, material, and as-built records.
- Support production control activities including design changes, kitting activities, and floor support.
- Oversee monthly SIOP process, including scheduling meetings, coordinating content input, and preparing the executive SIOP slide deck.
- Supports bids by providing headcount and production estimates for future work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, General Business Management or Business Administration or related disciplines.
- 9+ years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, or development environment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify efficient solutions to problems.
- 5+ years’ experience with ERP/MRP systems, experience as a ERP/MRP super user preferred
- Project Management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple products through manufacturing process simultaneously.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement tool set: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Green Belt Training, etc.
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
- Strong organizational and time management skills
