Job Description:
This role will performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawing, notes provided by engineering. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization’s processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior designers.
Essential Functions:
- Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) throughout the product development process
- Generate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentation
- Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings
- Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders
- Input data and assure hardware structures are acurate in a Product Data Management tool
- Work under general supervision
- Compliance with command media & standard
- Identifies problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide corrective actions
- Proficient with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric
- Knowledge of applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices), and its application techniques
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
- Active Secret security clearance required
- Experience with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric or SolidWorks equivalent
- Experience with modeling/drawing application such as PTC Creo Parametric OR Solidworks
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques
- Active TS/SCI security clearance highly desired
